The School of Faith

Our community enters another school year and with it the reminders of the importance of education for our children and teens. Learning, while of supreme importance for those in the first decades of life, is also important for people of all ages and life stages. Christians throughout the centuries and across many traditions have championed education, opening schools and centers for learning; including Sunday Schools, elementary and secondary schools, colleges, universities, and seminaries. In classes and Bible studies Christians have continued our education as it relates to our faith well into our adulthood, taking Romans 12:2 seriously.
Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of the mind, so that you may discern what is the will of God—what is good and acceptable and perfect.
As the new school year begins for the children of Buffalo and all communities in the U.S. let us commit ourselves to the ongoing project of learning, that is the renewal of our minds. Let us choose to engage the world with curiosity, that we might learn even in the places and situations we least expect. We may be well versed in a particular subject, we may even have accomplished advanced study in the area, but there is always more to learn. This is particularly true when it comes to God, for we are finite, but our Creator is infinite. So may curiosity help drive your pursuit of our God and your knowledge of the Holy One.
Blessings as you learn!
