The BPC Craft Group (otherwise known as the “crafty ladies”) was organized in 2010. We meet in the home of one of the women from our congregation.
We began with the idea of making enough craft items to, hopefully, sell at a craft and bake sale the next fall.
The first year we sold over $3,000 worth of craft items and baked goods which are contributed by members of the congregation. After that we knew it was a group that we wanted to continue.
The money we earn is given to mission projects in the church and we have given money to a women’s shelter, a crisis nursery and the local food shelf. At our sale in 2015 we made over $5,000.
Along the way a men’s craft group has been organized and we have been working with them on many successful projects.
Enthusiasm has built over the years. We started the group with about 10 women and have grown to 15 and sometimes more.
We find that we not only work on our projects, but it has been a bonding experience for the women who attend and we have established some strong friendships.
Our Annual Craft and Bake Sale is held the first Saturday in November.
